Poinsettia Christmas Card

Have you been looking for an "easy" idea for your Holiday cards?  Here is a simple Christmas card made with the help of the Close To My Heart Artiste cartridge and some "Pinspiration".  On Pinterest, there have been quite a few cards that use shades of tan and just a pop of color.  The card starts with a Colonial White Card Base and a frame made using the "Frosted" Background and Texture Paper and Cashmere Cardstock.    The red strip is Red Shimmer Trim and it adds just the right amount of "bling".  It is adhesive backed so you just stick it down wherever you need it.  The Poinsettia flowers are on the Artiste cartridge - page 80 of the booklet.  There are three sizes layered together - I cut them at 1 1/4", 1 1/2" and 1 3/4".  Then I sponged the edges using Ruby Ink.  I layered them together and used a  gold Bedazzler stud for the flower center.  The flourish is in the Artiste booklet on page 43 Accent 2 (shift) cut at 2".    The Holly Leaves are on the Art Philosophy Cartridge  Booklet on page 46.  Cut Leaf3 (shift) at 3/4" and 1".  The sentiment is from S1310 Scandinavian Wishes, the October Stamp of the Month, stamped in New England Ivy Ink.

Hope this inspires you to start working on your Holiday cards!

Joyful Stars November Blog Hop

photo JoyfulStarsBlogHopBadge3_zpsa824a544.jpgWelcome to the Joyful Stars November Blog Hop!  If you have come from Elizabeth's Blog, then you are on the right track.  This month I have a Christmas Ornament that can be used as a photo holder for your desk or an ornament for your tree.  You can also put small photos on some or all of the sides.  The base is one of the blocks from Z1737 My Creations Collage Cubes.

Each side of the cube is covered with pattern paper from the Sparkle and Shine Paper Packet.  The bow is cut at 1 1/4" in Ruby Cardstock using the Close To My Heart Artiste Cartridge.  It is Accent 3 on page 56 of the booklet.  There is an extra strip 3/8" x 2" cut from Ruby and wrapped around the bow to conceal the large hole in the bow.

I used one of the Foundry Pin Clips (Z1612) for the top of the cube to hold a photo or hang the ornament.  These are only available in the "While Supplies Last" section of my website.   The "frame" on the front is on page 61 the Artiste booklet.  It is Accent 4 (shift) cut in White Daisy at 1 1/4" and Ruby Cardstock at 1 1/2".  The frame is stamped in Ruby Cardstock using a stamp from G1071 the Sparkle and Shine Workshop on the Go Kit.
Lori's Blog is the next stop.  Enjoy the hop and Happy Crafting!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your friends and family and be sure to stop by again next month.

Joyful Stars October Blog Hop

photo JoyfulStarsBlogHopBadge3_zpsa824a544.jpgWelcome to the Joyful Stars October Blog Hop! I'm so glad you decided to join us this month.   If you are following the hop, you have arrived here from Joyce's Blog.  I have a fall card for you today.  It uses the beautiful new Huntington Paper Pack and the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.  The card base is 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" Colonial White and the overlay (page 82 of the booklet) is cut at 4 1/2" from Barn Red cardstock.   Be sure to set your machine at "REAL DIAL SIZE" to cut all the elements for this card. Every other vertical stripe on the overlay is backed with a 1/2" piece of the large floral in the Huntington paper pack.
The frame shape for the sentiment is Photo Mat 1 (shift) on page 82 cut at 2 1/2" from Colonial White. The leaves from the stamp set "Happy Autumn" (D1550) are stamped around the outer edge of the frame using Champagne and second generation Autumn Terracotta.  Stamp "Give Thanks" in Barn Red on the frame.  The frame is backed with the same shape Barn Red frame cut at 2 3/4" and mounted on the card using mounting tape.  The leaf accent (Icon, page 72) is cut using the Artbooking cartridge in Barn Red at 1" and is layered with the leaf (Icon shift, page 72) cut in Autumn Terracotta.  Highlight the leaf edges using Bronze Glitter Glitz Gel.  Allow the glitz to dry before adhering it to the card using mounting tape for added dimension.

Here is the same card but it uses the pumpkin as an accent.  The pumpkin and the layers are Icon and Icon shift on page 73 of the Artbooking Booklet cut at  1 1/2" from Autumn Terracotta, Goldrush and New England Ivy and then layered together.  ALL ELEMENTS FOR THIS CARD ARE CUT USING "REAL DIAL SIZE".  The top layer is Goldrush and the edges are sponged using Autumn Terracotta ink to highlight and give dimension to the edges.
Now it is time to head on over to Nancy's Blog to see her beautiful creation - thanks so much for "HOPPING" with us today!
