Here's To You and Documented Cards for Joyful Stars August Blog Hop

Welcome to the Joyful Stars August Blog Hop.  Thanks for joining us this month.  If you have arrive from Michelle's Blog then you are on the right track.  You can find a complete list of participants on Joyce's Blog. I have been working on the Here's To You kit that is a special available until the end of August. The kit makes 7 beautiful cards and a scrapbook page.  There are four exclusive stamps in the kit too!
Today I have a card that I made using one of the stamps in the kit. The stamps are beautiful and I thought the size of it would make a lovely 5 X 7 card.  The paper is from the Documented paper pack.  The sentiment is embossed in white and it really stands out on the Bashful cardstock.

The second card uses the Rose Embossing Folder that comes in the Here's To You kit. First, I embossed a piece (on the flat side)  of White Daisy with the Rose Embossing Folder.  Then, I put Bashful Ink on the inside of the folder and embossed another piece of White Daisy cardstock.  It does not show up very well in my photo, but the Bashful Ink gives a very light pink to the areas between the raised lines.  The inked piece lines up perfectly with the white piece so the pattern is continuous.
The sentiment "On this day" is from the CTMH Exclusive Artbooking cartridge - you can find the image on page 38 of the booklet.  I cut the image four times in white daisy and then once in Bashful Glitter paper and glued them all together using Liquid Glass.  This raises the sentiment above the embossed card and really gives it dimension.  I put the stacked sentiment on top of inked embossed paper and traced it and cut it out the shape.   Then I glued the "On this Day" to the cut piece of embossed paper and matched it up with the White Daisy piece.  I added a few Mini Sparkles as embellishments and adhered the white piece to a 5 X 7 Bashful card base.

The Here's To You special is only available until August 31 so be sure to contact your consultant to order yours today!

Fresh Air Cards for Joyful Stars July Blog Hop

Welcome to the Joyful Stars July Blog Hop.  I'm so glad you are able to join us today.  If you have come from  Michelle's Blog, then you are on the right track.  It is a circular hop so you can start anywhere and when you get back to the first blog, you will know you have seen all the blogs. If you get lost along the way, you can find a list of participants on Joyce's Blog.  Today I have cards that were made using the beautiful Fresh Air Paper packet.  The are both 5 x 7 cards.  I made them larger to accommodate the Thin Cut Alpha Letters.  They are great on cards or titles for your scrapbook pages.

The first one is a Father's Day card.

The second one is a version of it with just a few changes.

I just love this paper pack.  It is very versatile and can be used for just about every type of outdoor event.

Now it is time to hop on over to Joyce Gough's Blog to see her creation.

Masculine Birthday Card

Hope you are enjoying this summer weather - or at least tolerating it well!  Today I have a card I made recently for my teenage nephew's birthday.  So I wanted something masculine and not childish.
I used the CTMH retired "Happy" thin cut and cut the birthday using the CTMH Artistry font. The striped paper was made using the Shin Han markers by making free hand stripes.  The colors are Peacock, and the retired Whisper and Slate.

Fresh Air Layout for Joyful Stars June Blog Hop

Welcome to the Joyful Stars June Blog Hop.  If you have come from Debi's Blog then you are on the right track.  You can find a complete list of participants on Joyce's Blog. This month, I chose to use the Fresh Air paper pack from the new Seasonal Expressions 2.  If you have some photos from camping or outdoor family vacations, you are going to LOVE this paper pack! I have tons of photos from our outdoor adventures to scrapbook.  Looks like I am going to need to get a few more Fresh Air Paper Packs!  I had so many photos, I used our "Flip Flaps" to help me add some additional photos and journaling without making the layout too busy.  To design my layout, I started with Pattern 24 from Make It From Your Heart Volume 3.  Then I changed it up to suit my photos.  I like my photos to take center stage on my layouts so the amount and size of my photos always dictate the layout and colors for me.  There is no right or wrong way to scrapbook - it is just my personal preference.
Here is the layout before I put it in the page protectors.

Here is a close up of the right page in the page protector and flip flaps attached.  The flip flaps attach to the outside of the page protector so you can view the extra photos without actually taking it out of the page protector.

This is what the page protector looks like with the flip flaps attached.  It is like a "little booklet" on top of the page protector.  It is very east to attach the flip flaps anywhere on the page that works for your layout.  To determine the actual placement, you must put the completed page in the protector before attaching the flip flaps.

There are two flip flaps attached to the page, so it is like a booklet on top of the page protector.

The layout uses images from the You Are Here Close To My Heart Cricut cartridge and the font is from the Close To My Heart Cricut cartridge Artistry.

Now it is time to hop on over to my friend Krista's blog to see her wonderful crafty creation.

Postcard Perfect for Joyful Stars May Blog Hop

Welcome to the Joyful Stars May Blog Hop.  I missed out on our Hop last month so I am happy to be back crafting again.  If you have come from Joyce's Blog you are on the right track. Close To My Heart has a fabulous special for National Scrapbook Month called Postcard Perfect.   The papers are great for any papercrafting project but the pack is especially designed for scrapbooking those tropical summer memories.

Since I am way, way behind on my cardmaking,  I decided to make a card for the hop.  The card is to celebrate my niece's 40th birthday.  The soft peachy and pink colors are really pretty.  The font is one from Cricut Access called Babette because I wanted to use a script font.  The flower stamp is in the  Postcard Perfect stamp set and the tropical drink complete with umbrella is from the fabulous CTMH You Are Here Cricut Cartridge.  It is a "MUST" have cartridge, just like all of the Close To My Heart cartridges.  Take a look at the SHAPE INDEX and see for yourself.

I hope you have enjoyed hoping with us this month.  Be sure to stop back again next month for our June Blog Hop! Now it is time to hop on over to Michelle's Blog
