Balloon Birthday Card

My nephew will be 21 next week so I wanted to make a birthday card for him.  This another EASY card.  Since my Cricut machine is always set up, cutting images is even easier than stamping.  This card uses the balloon from the Artiste Cartridge.  It is Accent 3 on page 70 of the booklet.  The Artiste cartridge (Z3170) is fabulous and soon to be retired so order it now if you don't already own one.

I cut a bunch of balloons from 1 1/4" to 2 1/2" (not sure which sizes I actually used- the card is 5 x 7) in Lagoon, Peacock, Glacier and Sorbet Cardstocks.  I also used the Lagoon Background and Texture paper from the Calypso and Hopscotch (retired) Paper Packet. The banner is from D1672 the Kaleidoscope Cardmaking Workshop stamped in Glacier Ink and fussy cut and layered over Sorbet Cardstock. The inside has a 21 cut with the Artiste cartridge - sorry I did not take a photo of the inside.  It was cute and quick card and I still have plenty of balloons to make additional cards.

Thinking of You Card for Color Dare 203

I decided to make a simple card for the Close To My Heart Color Dare Challenge this week.  It uses one of my favorite colors - Sorbet. The challenge this week is to use all and only these colors:  Crystal Blue, Sorbet, Canary and White Daisy.
As I mentioned, it is a simple card and uses the soon to be retired X7197B Zoe Paper pack and D1616 Have a Happy Life Stamp set.  In addition, it uses Z2117 Crystal Blue and Z2164 Sorbet Inks and X5772 Canary Cardstock. You can visit my website to see the "soon to be retired" products still available.  As always, please contact me if you have any questions or need help with anything.

Mojo Monday 457 with Calypso Paper

I decided to play along with Mojo Monday this week (even though it is already Thursday).  This card uses the beautiful X7210B Calypso Paper. The colors are so cheerful and are great for summer scrapbook layouts too.

The sentiment and flowers are from B1462 Lovely Birthday and colored with Shinhan Alcohol Markers.  I also used the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut the circle and scalloped circle.  All of these products, including the Art Philosophy cartridge are retiring at the end of August.  If you don't own this cartridge, this is one you just can't live without.  It has 700 fabulous images and is so economical.  It can replace all those Nestibilities dies and border punches.  All that plus 10 3D boxes/bags!

Joyful Stars July Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Joyful Stars July Blog Hop.  If you have come here from Crystal's Blog, then you are on the right track.  I hope you have been staying cool and enjoying the summer.  I was not able to attend the CTMH Convention in person this year, however, I was able to attend virtually right in my own home!  It was very exciting to see all the new products.  You are going to LOVE them!  They will be available to everyone August 1.  Be sure to stop back next week, because after I receive my order, I will have a "sneak peek" to show you.  In the meantime, I have been playing with some of the products that are being retired.  There are three Cricut Cartridges on the retiring list: Art Philosophy, Artiste and Artfully Sent.  If any of these are on your wish list, I urge you to get them before they are gone!
Today I made a card using an image from the Artfully Sent Cartridge. This is a cartridge that I have had for 2 years but with 700 images on it, I can honestly say that I have barley scratched the surface of all the things you can do with it.
There are 400 card projects on the cartridge.  They are already set up for you.  You just choose the paper, cut and put them together.  This card is one that I made using the Dahlia Icon image.  It is not a "specific" card on the cartridge.  That is why I say the possibilities are almost endless.  You can mix and match as well as using the suggested cards.

I cut the Dahlia in a few different sizes, but decided to use the largest image - it was cut at 6 1/4" in Slate Cardstock.  It is the "Icon"on page 15 of the booklet.  This image would make great wall art.  Just choose colors to coordinate with you room decor and pop it in a frame!
Products used:

X5776 Peacock Cardstock

X5764 Pear Cardstock
X5770 Glacier Cardstock

Thank you for visiting today.  Now it is time to hop on over to Krista's Blog.

Kaleidoscope Birthday Card

As soon as I saw C1647 - A Bunch of Love stamp set and coordinating Thin Cuts in the Seasonal Expressions 2, I went online and ordered it immediately.  I just love the versatility of these stamps.  As soon as they arrived, I stamped the flower bunch dozens of times  on White Daisy cardstock and cut them with the thin cuts.  They can coordinate with any paper, just by changing the color of the flowers.  And they can be used for just about any occasion, simply by changing the sentiment.
The card is Pear cardstock and Kaleidoscope Background and Texture Paper.  I used Shin Han markers to color the flowers.  The papers are only available until the end of July and the stamps and thin cuts will retire on August 31.
