Joyful Stars November Blog Hop

Welcome to our November Blog Hop.  I'm so happy you can join us this month.
If you arrived here from  Lori's Blog, then you are on the right track.
Joyce and I spent the weekend at the Edison Stamp, Scrap Art Tour so I have not had much creative time lately.  However, Joyce made cute little votive trees and one of the customers asked it if was cut using one of the Close To My Heart Exclusive Cartridges. Since it is a pattern that Joyce created on the Explore, I decided to try to make one from the pyramid tree on the Artiste Cartridge.  So here is the tree from Artiste made in White Pines decorated using poinsettias on page 80 of the booklet.  It is found on page 53 of the booklet - it is 3-D Object cut at 5 1/2".    The photo is a little dark because I wanted the tea light to show through the little holes that are punched in the tree.

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!

Now it is time for you to hop over to Joyce's Blog.

Stamp, Scrap, Art Tour in Edison, NJ

November is almost here and you know what that means - the Edison Stamp, Scrap, Art Tour!  Joyce and I will have a booth again at this year's show. It will be held at the New Jersey Convention Center on Sat. November 7 from 10AM to 5PM and Sunday November 8 from 10AM to 3PM.  We will have plenty of samples and ideas to inspire your creativity.  "Little Debi" will be teaching at our "make and take" table.   The Close to My Heart Annual Inspiration idea book will be available along with the latest and greatest CTMH stamping and scrapbooking products.  Speaking of inspiration, "Little" Debi has a fantastic BLOG so be sure to take a look.

Please stop by our booth to say hello to me and mention this post and I will have a little surprise for you.  Here is a buy one/get one coupon for you.  Feel free to pass it on to your friends.  Hope to see you there!  Here is a link to their WEBSITE.

Birthday Cards

I was in need of some birthday cards and when I came across this one at Crafts By Patty, it inspired me to get creating.  Don't you just love being inspired to actually create (instead of just pinning)?  The colors are so bright and fresh - just perfect for a birthday card.

This is the card I made for my niece - it is her 13th birthday!  The numbers were cut from the Artistry cartridge.  The stamp set is D1618 Build-a-Cake and the colors are Hollyhock, Pear, Glacier and Canary.
The next card is scraplifted from the inspiration card at Stamps By Patty.  It uses the same colors and the Build-a-Cake stamp set.
Hope you are inspired to create something for someone special.

Joyful Stars October Blog Hop

Happy Fall and welcome to the Joyful Stars Blog Hop.  We are happy you are joining us this month.  If you have come from Marie's Blog then you are on the right track.  It is a circular hop, so all you need to do is follow the link until you get back to the blog where you started.  If you get lost along the way, just hop on over to Joyce's Blog where you will find a list of all the participants. I have enjoyed experimenting with the new Close To My Heart Watercolors and Watercolor Paper.  The paper is great because it is so much thinner than what you can purchase in stores.  It works great for layering on both cards and scrapbook pages.

The card base is Kraft Cardstock and the leaves were cut from the new Watercolor Paper using the Artistry cartridge.  Then the leaves were colored using the Watercolor Paints (Z3132).  It was fun to just mix the colors and see what the leaves looked like after they dried.  There is a piece of the discontinued Burlap Ribbon in the background for even more texture.

Joyce and I were creating together a few weeks ago to get ready for the York Stamp Show and we decided to use the new Fallen Leaves (B1492) stamp set.  We stamped the leaves in Cocoa ink and "watercolored" over top.  You can see that the veins in the leaf got a bit washed out.  The card has a circle cutout of Saddle Cardstock and backed with the watercolor paper.  After we painted it we let it dry and then stamped Hello from the new For Family (C1633) stamp set.

We use the same techniques on this card but used the Happy stamp from Happy to be Friends (C1605).  We used the watercolor paint inside and after allowing it to dry stamped "anniversary" to complete the card.  If you have not yet tried using the watercolors, you should give them a try.  If you are near York, PA this weekend, we will be at the Heirloom Productions Stamp Show and "Little" Debi will be teaching the watercolor cards at our make and take table.  Please stop by and say hi.

Now it is time to hop to Joyce's Blog to see what she has created this month.

Joyful Stars September Blog Hop

Welcome to the Joyful Stars September Blog Hop.  I hope you enjoy all the beautiful projects along the way.  If you have come from Nancy's Blog then you are on the right track. Now that the new Annual Inspirations and Holiday Expressions have been unveiled, of course my projects are made with some brand new products!  Both cards use the new White Pines Paper Packet and the new CTMH Exclusive Artistry Cricut Cartridge.  There are over 700 images on this cartridge and the images are absolutely fabulous!  If you would like to have a look at all the images, simply click HERE to go to my website for the Shape Index.
The first card is Faux Swing card.
It uses the shape image on page 48 of the booklet.
Here is a look at the inside of the card.

The second card is made using the snowflake cut at 2" on page 49 of the booklet.  It is the layer shift image.  It uses the beautiful glacier background and texture paper. The card measures 8 x 3 1/2" and the card base is Champagne cardstock.

Here is a peek at the detail - the snowflakes are raised using mounting tape - it was a bit tedious but I really like the dimension the mounting tape created.

Thank you for joining us this month.  Be sure to stop back next month for another Joyful Stars hop.
Now it is time to hop on over to Krista's Blog to see her beautiful creation.
