Joyful Stars September Blog Hop

 photo JoyfulStarsBlogHopBadge3_zpsa824a544.jpg

Welcome to the Joyful Stars September Blog Hop.  I sure hope you are enjoying all the fabulous artwork as much as I am.  You can never have too much inspiration!  If you are following the hop, you have arrived from Lori's Blog .  If you ever get lost along the way, just hop on over to Joyce's Blog where you will find the complete list of participants.

Here is a snowman card using the Frosted Paper Pack plus Crystal Blue cardstock.  I added the Crystal Blue because I liked the brighter blue with the Champagne background paper.  The snowman is from C1506 Flakey Friends. I stamped the snowman image twice in Slate and another time in Crystal Blue.  Then I cut out the scarf and hat from the Crystal Blue image and glued it to the Slate one.  I also cut out the carrot form the extra Slate image and glued that on top of the Crystal Blue one.   The puffy "snow" is Liquid Applique.  It is liquid when it comes out of the tube, then it puffs up when you heat it with your craft heater.  The card is embellished with Silver Shimmer Tape and Silver Glitter Glitz.  The card design is Card Pattern 24 from the new Close To My Heart Book, "Make It From Your Heart" Volume Two.  This is a great book with twelve brand new card patterns, 16 new double page layout patterns and 2 single page layouts.  All that for only$7.95!

Please contact me if you have any questions or need help with anything!

Now it's time to hop to  Nancy's Blog to see her creation.

Artbooking in August Blog Hop Week Four

Welcome to our fourth Artbooking in August Blog Hop.  I don't know about you, but I have so many ideas swimming around in my head from all the inspiration from this hop!  If you have arrived from Polly's Blog, you are on the right track.  If you ever get lost along the way, just go to Adeline's Blog where you will find the complete list of hoppers.  Today, I have a Holiday card for you.  It uses the Frosted Paper Pack, fabulous glitter paper and those cute little penguins.  Don't you just love how the patterns and colors are coordinated for you?  I used a pattern from the new "Make It From Your Heart", volume 2.  You can find it on page 45.
For added dimension, the penguin and snowflake are mounted on the front using mounting tape.  I used Liquid Applique on his hat and heat embossed the ornament with Silver Powder.  While "playing" with the papers and different cuts on the Artbooking Cartridge, I discovered that if you cut the envelope page (Photo Mat 2) for the baby mini album on page 51 at 4", it is the perfect size to hold a gift card!  So, I decided that I just had to incorporate it in my card.

Since it was meant to be inserted into a mini album, it has holes along the long edge.  I cut a 3/8" piece of the Silver Glitter Paper and adhered it to the bottom of the envelope and the bottom of the card to hide the holes.  I also cut two snowflakes (Border - Shift) at 1 1/4" from page 76 in the glitter paper.  One is on the envelope and one is on the card front.  Use care when removing them from your cricut mat because they are very delicate!  Then, add a sparkle to the center of the snowflake and insert your gift card.
I added a velcro dot to keep the envelope closed.

If you have any questions, just send me a note and I will be happy to help you.  Now it is off to Jean's Blog to see her fabulous creation.

Artbooking in August Blog Hop Week Three

Welcome to week three of our Artbooking in August Blog Hop.  If you are following the hop, you have just arrived from Polly's Blog.  All of the participants are listed in order on Adeline's Blog in case you get lost along the way.
This week, I have a mini album to show you.  It is not completely finished - it needs a few more photo mats and embellishments - but you will get the idea of what you can do with these mini books.  It is made with the Dream Pop Paper.  It measures 8 x 6 and the pages are a combination of the "Snapshots Mini-Album" (on pages 40 & 41) and the "Baby Mini-Album" (on pages 50 & 51).  I did not use the overlays because the papers are very busy and bright.
This is the cover of the mini book.  The colors are so bright and cheery- just like my niece!
This is the second page.  I used various accents from the cartridge.  You can mix and match pieces from different layouts.
These are pages 3 and 4.    It is fun to mix and match the photo mats.  The Close To My Heart paper packs have coordinating cardstock and background and texture paper. so everything mixes and matches easily!
The left page still needs photo mats.
The bright pink page is one from the "Love Mini Album".  It is the same height as the other album so the pages fit in the book however, they are not as wide.  The last page is one of the pocket pages with a few sheets of  paper so she can journal all about her special day.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like more details about the individual pages.  I would be happy to help you create your own mini album!  Also, you can check back in a day or so because I will post the completed pages with all the embellishments for you to see.
Next on your hop is Jean's Blog.  Hope you enjoy all the beautiful artwork along the way.

Artbooking in August Blog Hop Week Two

Welcome to week two of Artbooking in August.  I'm glad you decide to stop by - I'm sure you will be inspired by over 35 talented Close To My Heart Consultants.  If you have come from Polly's Blog, you are on the right track.  Remember this is a circular blog hop and if you get lost or confused along the way, the list is posted on Adeline's blog here.
The Artbooking Cartridge has so many images that is is difficult to choose!  This week, I made a Christmas ornament.  It would look cute as a package tag too.  Now is the time to get a head start on your holiday projects!
Check out page 56 of the Artbooking Booklet.  The Icon image is a Christmas ball ornament. I cut that image in silver glitter paper at 4 1/4" (real dial size).  Then I cut Photo Mat 2 on page 80 at 3" (real dial size) in White Daisy cardstock.  The penguin is from the Hostess Rewards stamp set - C1560.  He is stamped using black ink and then again using Crystal Blue Ink.  The scarf and ear muffs are paper pieced and mounted onto the penguin using mounting tape, giving some dimension to the penguin.  I used the CTMH Silver Metallic Pen to accent the scarf and top band on the ear muffs. The snowball is covered in Prisma Glitter.  My original idea was to make a "shaker" type ornament so I punched a 2 1/2 circle from a piece of  transparency film and mounted it under the white doily piece.  Then I added a little prisma glitter to the inside before I completely sealed it with Liquid Glass.  However, the glitter paper is so "sparkly" that you can't really see the glitter on the inside.  So if you want to make something similar, you can easily skip that step or use regular cardstock so there is contrast between the cardstock and glitter.

I wanted to add a tag with a sentiment from the new Holiday Tags D1560 set on page 105 of the new Idea Book.   This set is perfect to add a sentiment to all those little gift bags or boxes.  The AP cartridge is usually my "go to cartridge" for tags, but I really wanted to find something I could use from the Artbooking cartridge.   Photo Mat 1 on page 83 is shaped like a tag and so I cut it at 1" (real dial size) in White Daisy and layered it onto Crystal Blue cut  about 1/8" larger all around.  The "Happy Holidays sentiment is heat embossed on the mini tag using silver powder.  The tag is tied onto the bow using Grey Baker's Twine. The bow is CTMH Color Ready Seam Binding colored with Crystal Blue Ink.  I "crumpled" the ribbon and let it dry before making the bow.  This product is so versatile - it will match every project because it can become any color ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by our blog hop. OK, now it is off to Jean's Blog, Stamping Maui, to see her beautiful creation for this week.  Happy Hopping!
