Joyful Stars December Blog Hop

photo JoyfulStarsBlogHopBadge3_zpsa824a544.jpgWelcome to the Joyful Stars December Blog Hop.  I'm so glad you are able to take some time during this busy season to hop with us!  If you have come from Lori's Blog, then you are on the right track.  If you ever have trouble with a link, then you can find the entire list on Joyce's Blog.
Our theme this month is a Christmas/Holiday project so I made a Christmas card to share with you.  It is a monochromatic card - shades of creme and tans.  It gives a simple, yet elegant look to the card.  Since it is not the traditional red and green card, you can use this for just another occasion just by changing the sentiment!

The Colonial White card base is 5 x 7,  with layers of Cashmere and Frosted Background and Texture Paper.  The poinsettia is made by threading the Color Ready Seam Binding through holes that were punched in a 2" Champagne circle.

Punch 7 evenly spaced holes around the circle.  Punch the center hole a little larger.

Begin threading the seam binding up through the center hole and then down though one of the outer holes.  Then thread the seam binding back up through the center hole and down through the next outer hole.  Continue until you have created all the flower petals.  Secure the ends of the seam binding in the back using glue dots.
ALL CRICUT CUTS WERE MADE WITH THE ARTBOOKING CARTRIDGE AND THE MACHINE SET AT REAL DIAL SIZE.  The circle is on page 83 (Border Shift).  The doily frame around the flower is Photo Mat 2 on page 61 of the Booklet and was cut at 3 1/4" in Colonial White Cardstock.  The word Joy is a title on page 74 of the Booklet is cut at 1 3/4" in Colonial White Cardstock.

Here is the list of Close To My Heart products used to make the card.
