Artbooking in August Blog Hop Week Four

Welcome to our fourth Artbooking in August Blog Hop.  I don't know about you, but I have so many ideas swimming around in my head from all the inspiration from this hop!  If you have arrived from Polly's Blog, you are on the right track.  If you ever get lost along the way, just go to Adeline's Blog where you will find the complete list of hoppers.  Today, I have a Holiday card for you.  It uses the Frosted Paper Pack, fabulous glitter paper and those cute little penguins.  Don't you just love how the patterns and colors are coordinated for you?  I used a pattern from the new "Make It From Your Heart", volume 2.  You can find it on page 45.
For added dimension, the penguin and snowflake are mounted on the front using mounting tape.  I used Liquid Applique on his hat and heat embossed the ornament with Silver Powder.  While "playing" with the papers and different cuts on the Artbooking Cartridge, I discovered that if you cut the envelope page (Photo Mat 2) for the baby mini album on page 51 at 4", it is the perfect size to hold a gift card!  So, I decided that I just had to incorporate it in my card.

Since it was meant to be inserted into a mini album, it has holes along the long edge.  I cut a 3/8" piece of the Silver Glitter Paper and adhered it to the bottom of the envelope and the bottom of the card to hide the holes.  I also cut two snowflakes (Border - Shift) at 1 1/4" from page 76 in the glitter paper.  One is on the envelope and one is on the card front.  Use care when removing them from your cricut mat because they are very delicate!  Then, add a sparkle to the center of the snowflake and insert your gift card.
I added a velcro dot to keep the envelope closed.

If you have any questions, just send me a note and I will be happy to help you.  Now it is off to Jean's Blog to see her fabulous creation.
