Garden Gnomes Christmas Cards for the Joyful Stars September Blog Hop

Welcome to the Joyful Stars September Blog Hop.
.  I'm so glad you are joining us today.  If you have come from Nancy's Blog, you are on the right track.  Today I have two Christmas cards to share.  The cards uses gnomes from the Z3781 stamps and Thin Cuts.

The background snowflakes were cut using a card on the Close to my Heart Complete Creativity Cartridge in White Daisy Cardstock.  The Ho Ho Ho was cut using CTMH Scarlet Cardstock.  The plaid paper and the Scarlet pattern paper "gnome clothes" are from the new X7261 Comfort and Joy Paper Pack.  I stamped the gnome twice - once on white and once on the Scarlet Pattern Paper.  Then, I cut out the clothes along the stamped lines and adhered them to the gnome stamped in white.  I also used Z4245 Opaque Matte Texture Paste to add "texture" to his beard.  Then I added some Z3563 Diamond Stickles to his beard and some snowflakes and also some Z3560 Golden Rod to his belt buckle.

In the close up photo, you can see the texture and sparkle in his beard.

The second card uses the brand new Distress Inks Z3834 Chipped Sapphire and Z3833 Peacock Feathers to make the background.  After blending, I spritzed the background with water to create the lighter splatter.  I also used Z3293 Clear Shimmer Brush to create shiny splatter.  I am really loving the what you can do with these inks!

The snowflakes are from a retired set CC101188 - Love With All The Trimmings.  They were heat embossed with Z2068 White Embossing Powder.  The background does not come through the snowflakes - they stay perfectly white!  The Silver Loose Sequins are adhered to add extra sparkle.  Also, there is Z679 Liquid Glass on the "glass" part of the lantern.

Thanks so much for joining us and stop back next month on October 10th for some more inspiration using new products.

Holographic Paper Card for Joyful Stars August Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Joyful Stars August Blog Hop.  Thanks for joining us today.  If you have come from Joyce's Blog, then you are on the right track.  Today I have a card made using the fabulous Close To My Heart Holographic Paper.  This paper has a foil coating and it gives a holographic effect.  The colors seem to change based on the lighting, the viewing angle and even the other paper it is paired with.  You really need to see it in person - the photos really don't do it justice.  I used Z3636 the Oasis Holographic Paper.  In the book this paper look green, however in my sample it looks bluish green at one angle and pinkish orange when it catches the light.  I kept the card really simple - I wanted a clean contemporary look so the paper would be the star.  I cut the flowers using a card from the Close To My Heart Cricut Cartridge Artfully Sent.  This paper cuts so beautifully!  There were no rough edges and it was easy to come off the mat.

Here is another view of the same card - I photographed it in low light.  You can see how the paper seems to change color!  Working with this paper is a lot of FUN!
I hope you will try this fabulous paper!

Summer Vibes Slider Card for the Joyful Hearts July Blog Hop

Welcome to the Joyful Stars July Blog Hop.  Thanks for joining us today.  If you have come from Joyce's Blog, then you are on the right track.  Summer is here and I have a card made using the new X7258B Summer Vibes paper and sticker pack.  The colors are so vibrant and cheerful.  This pack will make your photos the star of your summer/beach layouts.

It is a slider card - the fish moves around the circle.

I love the little fishy.  It is so easy to color him is an array of coordinating colors.  I raised the waves with a double layer of mounting tape so the fish could "swim" under them!

The fish was colored using the Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend markers and then coated with liquid glass to give it a fabulous shine.  Here are the stamp sets used on this card:

A Million Little Things Cards for the Joyful Stars June Blog Hop

Welcome to the Joyful Stars June Blog Hop.  I'm so happy you have joined us today.  If you have come from Joyce's Blog, you are on the right track.
Today, I am using one of my favorite sets from the May/June catalog called A Million Little Things.  The set includes three floral stamps, three sentiments and three small background "spatter" stamps.  It is a very versatile set!
The first card reminds me of summer - the flower looks like black eyed susans!

The background paper is from the new X9015 Mix in Pack.  I love the sapphire blue floral paper!  It was stamped in Intense Black Ink, colored using the TriBlend Markers and embellished with Z1263 Bitty Sparkles.  You can see the "spatter" stamps in the background.  They really help to fill in white space.

This card uses the tulip flower and the May Stamp of the Month as the stem of the flower.  I love how delicate it looks.  The background paper is from the same Mix In pack.

I hope you enjoy al the creative ideas today!

Thanks for joining us today.  Close To My Heart has a brand new catalog with fabulous new products.  There are also specials for National Scrapbook Month and Day that are available while supplies last.

I have been "playing" with one of the stamps sets from National Scrapbooking day called Through Thick and Thin.  It comes in a bundle with products to make 20 cards!  One side of the paper is coated UV pattern that looks fabulous!

Kit contents:
1 – My Acrylix® Through Thick & Thin Stamp Set (exclusive)
6 – glossy UV-coated patterned cardstock sheets (1 Canary, 1 Candy Apple, 1 Flamingo, 1 Green Apple, 1 Lagoon, 1 Sapphire)
2 – White Daisy cardstock sheets
1 – Gold Glitter Gems (Z3312)
20 – white card bases & envelopes

This card uses the stamps and some background paper from X7256B Aurora Paper and X9015 Mix-in Paper Packet.  The hexagon shape is a thin cut from the Aurora Scrapbooking stamp and thin cuts.  The red "corona virus" are stamps from a retired stamp set and thin cuts Z3707 Blossoming Friendship. (Idea to use the stamp to represent the Corona Virus is from another CTMH consultant, Sandy Zimmer)

Here is a peek at the inside of the card.  The toilet paper roll is stamped and fussy cut, then embossed using a retired CTMH folder to give it a quilted look.

Here is one that uses a pattern from the card kit with a different sentiment.

I have a card using the April Stamp of the Month - O-fish-ally Awesome.  Let me tell you, I think this set is really awesome!  The images are adorable!  Get this D-size Stamp of the Month set for only $5 with a $50.00 minimum qualifying purchase!

The "fish bowl" card was made using an oval shape on Cricut Design Space using Glacier Cardstock.  I used the journaling pen to write the sentiment "safe at home".  There are plenty of great sentiments in the set as well.  The seaweed was also cut on the Cricut.

Here is a peek at the inside.
I used the journaling pen again to make the "quarantined" banner.
Please stay safe and well by continuing to social distance.  It is really the only thing we can do to help all those nurses and doctors that are on the front line.
Have a blessed Easter!
