Joyful Stars February Blog Hop

Welcome to the Joyful Stars February Blog Hop.  If you have come from  Nancy's Blog, then you are on the right track.  It is a circular hop, so you can just hop from blog to blog until you are back at the blog you saw first.  If you get lost along the way, please check out the list of participants on Joyce's Blog.
In honor of Valentine's Day this week, I have a little treat holder to share with you.  I bought these cute little mini coffee cups at the York Stamp Expo from one on the other vendors called Endless Creations.  They usually have the space right next to our booth so I have the opportunity to admire their make and takes and samples.  I purchased a large package of the cups and shared them with my friends but never actually got around to decorating one.  So, I finally decided that I would like to make them for a Valentine Treat.

Isn't that frog so darn cute!  He is from the stamp set C1638 Spring Critters in the new Seasonal Expressions.  I cut him out with the coordinating "Thin Cuts" Spring Critters die Z3207.  I used 3174 Blending Pen and coordinating inks to color him and added those wiggly eyes.  The XOXO is from the set S1504 - it is an old Stamp of the Month set called Typed Note.  The papers are from the new  pack called Regatta, Kaleidoscope and one of the Fundamental paper packs.  The cup is the perfect size for some valentine candy.

This cup is one I made for my friends that attended a crop last weekend.  It uses an old paper pack called Lucy and a very old stamp set.  Sorry for using so many discontinued products, but that was what inspired me to finally decorate some of these cute little cups.
I hope you are enjoying our hop.  As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need help with anything.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Now it is time to hop over to Marie's Blog to check out her creation.

Charlotte Card

I have been enjoying playing with the all new Charlotte Workshops Your Way Scrapbook Kit.  It is in our new Seasonal Expressions Book.  Just look at all the beautiful components in the kit.  There are 12 pieces of Background and Texture paper, 3 sheets of Cardstock, Charlotte Complements, a roll of Black and Gold Ribbon, and a pack of Treasured Puffies.  When you use the online instruction sheet, the kit will yield three traditional layouts, one Picture My Life layout and 9 greeting cards!  WOW - what a great value at just $26.95.
Today, I created a card using the card pattern in the instructions.  I used a leftover Picture My Life card and a different flower and the Thinking of You is from the January Stamp of the Month.  The flower, leaf and sprig is from C1641 Springtime Wishes. They were first cut using the coordinating Thin Cut Die Z3201 and then stamped using the Black Memento Ink Pad Z899, so the image did not bleed when using the watercolors.

I just love the delicate colors.  The kit is very versatile and can be used for many different occasions.

Joyful Stars January 2016 Blog Hop

Happy New Year and welcome to the Joyful Stars January Blog Hop.  If you have come from  Marie's Blog, then you are on the right track. We have a brand new Seasonal Expressions full of fantastic new products and accessories.  You can see it HEREMy cards are made using the brand new X7205B Charlotte Paper Pack.  This paper pack has 12 pieces of background and texture paper duos (2 each of 6 double-sided designs). I also used the new C1641 Springtime Wishes stamp set and the coordinating Z3201 Springtime Wishes Thin Cuts dies set.  Yes, that is right, we now have some thin metal dies that coordinate with our beautiful stamps!
The first card has random stamped leaves on Whisper Cardstock.  The frame is one of the stamps from the Artistry Cricut Collection and the flowers and Thank You are from Springtime Wishes.
The second card uses the flowers and sentiment from Springtime Wishes and the B & T from the Charlotte Paper Pack.  I embossed some Sweet Leaf Cardstock using Z3019 Vine Embossing Folder, cut it into strips and put the flowers at the top of the "vines" using mounting tape.

Here is a close up of the flowers. They were all cut using the coordinating metal dies and then stamped using the clear Acrylix Stamps.  The clear stamps make it so easy to stamp the cut out image!  The centers are Z3091 Pink Enamel Gems and Z3122 Blue Dots.
I am having a crop on January 16.  Please check out the Events Tab HERE for the details.
Now it is time to hop on over to Debi's Blog to see her wonderful creation.

December Joyful Stars Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Joyful Stars December Blog Hop. Although I keep checking the calendar - the weather almost fells like Spring!   This is a circular blog so you can just hop along and when you get back to the first blog you visited, you will know you have seen all the projects.  Joyce has the complete list of hoppers on her blog here.
If you arrived here from Donna's Blog, then you are on the right track. I am still enjoying the beautiful White Pines paper packet.  It is not only useful for Christmas cards and layouts, but winter/snow items too.  Here is a card called a circle side step card.  It is not quite what I envisioned when I started - but this is quite often the case for me.  I have an idea that evolves and ends up somewhere completely different than what I originally imagined.  But that is part of the fun for me.

The card is actually quite large.  The original circle was cut in the White Pines blue background and texture paper and was 6 3/4".  The completed card is about 7" x 6 1/4" and definitely will not fit in a standard envelope.  However, I really like the dimension created by the steps.  The snowman is cut using the new Artistry cartridge.  He is on page 47 of the booklet and he is cut at 4".  The sign was also cut using the font from the Artisty cartridge.  The accents (ornament, deer and bird) are from the coordinating White Pines Complements.  The complements contain so many cute animals and great accents for both cards and scrapbook pages.
Looking at the card now, I think it would make a beautiful "Baby's First Christmas" card.  The ornament could have the baby's name and the sign could say "First Christmas".

Here is another photo - I purposely made the snowman large because I planned to use a bow tie from the "Fundamentals Assortment".  However, after I made the snowman, I could not find the bow ties!
Crisis averted - I finally found them so now Mr. Snowman is properly dressed!  BTW, the addition of this bow tie is for Joyce and Little Debi who are always trying to "bling up" my cards!

Now it is time to hop on over to Yvonne's blog. Yvonne is hopping with us for the first time and  I would like to welcome her!
