Close To My Heart Annual Convention

Just back from the Close To My Heart 2014 Annual Convention held at the Disneyland Hotel in sunny California.  The weather was beautiful.  A few of my friends and I even had a chance to visit Disneyland and California Adventure.  The most exciting news however, is that we have a new Cricut Cartridge!  It is called Artfully Sent and will be available for purchase sometime in August.  I'll post more information as soon as we have a definite release date.  Here is a sneak peek at one of the cards we created at one of our creative sessions using this awesome cartridge.

This is the outside of the card.  The inside has a pop out hot air balloon.

Joyful Stars June Blog Hop

Welcome to our June Blog Hop.  If you are coming from Crystal's Blog, then you are on the right track.  June is time for Grads and Dads so I have a card for each today.  First, is a Graduation Card.  You can find instructions for this card on Brenda Quintana's blog  HERE.  It is a folded card and it will hold a gift card or money. The tassel was purchased at JoAnn Fabrics.  There are quite a few online tutorials if you would like to make your own tassel to match school colors.

The inside is stamped using discontinued Close To My Heart stamps.  I used the pocket to enclose money for the graduate.  The Hook and Loop Dots (Z1805) keep the card closed.

Next up is the Father's Day Shirt Card.  This card is folded, but since it is cut using the Artiste Cartridge it is very easy to make.  Many years ago, we made a shirt card following Origami Folding instructions, but it was much more difficult.  The Artiste Cartridge makes it so quick and easy! Here is the front of the card.

It is on page 75 of the booklet and the card was cut at 5" using ProPlayer B & T paper.  The tie was cut using Ruby Cardstock.  Here is what it looks like before folding.

 

 The inside of the card is decorated using D1527 Perfect Fit - Frames.  The frame was cut using the Art Philosophy Cartridge and then stamped using Pacifica Ink.   The sentiment is from D1560 Holiday Tags.

May All Day Crop Fun

Thanks to everyone who joined us today at Bethel Hill Church.  We had lots of fun - inspiring each other.  That is what I love most about getting together to craft - all the ideas and inspiration we share!  Here are just a few of the beautiful handcrafted items from today.

 This is a beautiful card made by Sue.  The colors are much prettier in person, but you can get the general idea.  She is fairly new to stamping so she borrowed my CTMH "How To" card making books.  She was inspired by a pattern on page 53 of the Wishes book called "Delightful Dots".  Then she looked through her paper and borrowed a few of my stamps and  just look at her creation!  Sure looks like she has been stamping for quite a while to me.

The next project is something I made to give everyone that attended.  It is a tiny little box cut with the Artiste cartridge using Ivy Lane Paper.

When Sue H saw my little box she was inspired to create a larger version for a gift.  She used a discontinued CTMH paper called Roxie.  The colors are just beautiful!

Anniversary Card

Here is an anniversary card I made recently.  It uses the Balloon Ride paper pack.  The card is a swing card cut from the Artiste Cartridge.  It is Accent 1 on page 52 of the booklet.  There a NINE different swing cards on the Artiste cartridge.  The coordinating shape was cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge in Sorbet Cardstock.  It was cut at 2 1/4" and is found on page 62 of the booklet. The numbers were also cut using Art Philosophy.

 The inside uses the coordinating oval shape from Art Philosophy.  Happy Anniversary is from the retired stamp set B1303 Golden Years.  The celebrate is from B1417 Perfect Fit Birthday.

This card would also make a great birthday card by using the recipients age on the front.  Please let me know if you have any questions or need help with anything.

Joyful Stars May Blog Hop

 

Welcome to the Joyful Stars May Blog Hop.  If you are coming from  Krista's Blog, you are on the right path.  If you get lost along the way, just go to Joyce's Blog for a complete list of participants.Today, I'm excited to share a "Sweet" card.  It was intended as a birthday card, but you can also use it as a Mother's Day card just by changing the sentiment inside.  The card was inspired by one on Pinterest at KB Papercrafts here. 

 

 The cupcakes and scroll sign were cut using the Artiste Cartridge.  The scallop border was cut using Art Philosophy.  The awning uses our new striped embossing folder and then was swiped with Lagoon Ink.  If you would like more detailed cutting information, just leave a comment and I will send you the details.  

Here is a peek at the inside.  The frame is cut using the Art Philosophy Cartridge.  You could change the sentiment to use it for a Mother's Day card.
