Due to a conflict at the Church, the crop originally scheduled for March 18 has been postponed until Saturday April 1.  April 1 is the only crop in April due to the Easter holidays.

Mark your calendar and RSVP to secure a spot.  Come take time to scrapbook your photos or work on any project.  Imagine 7 hours of uninterrupted crafting!  You can bring along any type of project - cards to make, scrapbooking, quilting, sewing, beading or whatever you are working on right now.  I will bring my Cricut machine and all six of the CTMH cartridges.  Please bring your own mats (if you have them)  if you would like to cut anything.  There will be plenty of samples for inspiration including the CTMH Idea Books.

Joyful Stars March Blog Hop - Sugar Rush Card

Hello and welcome to the March Joyful Stars Blog Hop.  Thanks for stopping by to see the creations of our talented Close To My Heart Consultants.  If you have come from Michelle's Blog, then you are on the right path.  Since it is a circular hop, you can start anywhere, however if you get lost along the way, you can find a list of participants HERE on Joyce's Blog.  Today I have a card made using the new Sugar Rush card making stamps and thin cuts set (Z3300).  It it a great set, perfect for all kinds of celebrations, especially birthdays.  I am using the "belated birthday" saying from the set. The technique is called "triple stamping."

While the card looks complicated, it is actually quite easy to do.

Cut three pieces of white/light cardstock:

2 X 31/4"

3 X 41/4"

4 X 51/4"

Cut three pieces of a dark/contrasting cardstock.

21/4" X 31/2"

31/4" X 41/2"

41/4" X 51/2"

Layer the three white pieces keeping borders even all the way around.Use a little adhesive to make sure they don't move when stamping.

Stamp the sentiment on the smallest piece then random stamp images making sure the pieces don't move.  HINT: Use the rule of "three" when random stamping.  Start with the largest image first and continue stamping the images in the form of a visual triangle.  The triangle shape is very pleasing to the eye.  Be sure to stamp "off" the edges too.  Try to use an uneven amount - 3, 5 or 7 images depending on what will fit on the paper.  This technique works best with solid type stamps (as opposed to outline stamps that you have to color in the image.) You will get more color very quickly on your cardstock.

Then come back and "fill" in some of the space with the smaller stamps.  Try to resist filling in every little space.  You need some white areas to allow your eye to rest.  

Next, separate the three panels and back each with the darker contrast cardstock.

Put the panels back together and your card is complete. 

However, don't stop there.  Go ahead and make a coordinating envelope too!
