Joyful Stars December Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Joyful Stars December Blog Hop.  I'm so glad that you are able to join us. If you have arrived from Tracey Pierce's Blog, then you are on the right track.  It is a circular hop so you can start anywhere and you will know you have seen every blog when you arrive at the blog you saw first.  Joyce has a list of participants HERE if you need help.
As soon as I saw the Oh, Deer paper, I could not wait to use it to make Christmas cards.  The first two cards were inspired by cards I made last week at a meeting using products from the soon to be released Seasonal Expressions.  I liked the way the tab shape was used for the sentiment.  The first card uses a Kraft cardstock base while the second uses the Seaglass cardstock as a base.

The Seaglass color was a bit brighter than I wanted so I used the Shimmer Brush like watercolor and brushed it directly on the cardstock.  Unfortunately, it does not show up in the photo!   We used the same technique the card we made last week.    I can not show you the cards using the new products yet.  However, be sure to stop back in January and I will post them for you.

The last card uses the Seaglass cardstock embossed with the Snowflake Embossing folder for texture.  It was then sanded to reveal the white core so the snowflakes are white.  The large snowflake was cut in White Glitter Paper with the Thin Cut Snowflake die cut.

Now it is time to hop on over to my friend Krista's Blog.  I'm sure you are going to love what she has created for us this month.

Mojo Monday Card using Oh Deer Paper

While looking for inspiration on my Christmas card design, I decided to check out this week's Mojo Monday sketch .  If I wait any longer, they won't even be ready before Christmas.  While I did make a card following the sketch, this card only is based on the sketch.  While playing with the stamps and paper, I took some creative "liberties".  This card uses the Oh, Deer paper.  It reminds me of the mid-century modern style, so I used the mid-century color gray and of course, gold and silver for that mid-century sparkle.  The original sketch is pictured here to the right.

The photo below is a close up on an angle to show the "shimmer" created by using the Clear Shimmer Brush and the new Gold Shimmer Brush.  The gold version will be available starting January 1.  The clear one was used on the light gray mat (you can see the sparkles)  and the gold one was used on some of the stars and dots on the deer paper.  It does not show up well in the photos, however it really adds a lovely shimmer in person.

Thanksgiving Treat Holder

Sorry this post is late - I had so much fun Thanksgiving week that I never had time to post it!  I absolutely love the fall and Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.  I am grateful to to able to spend time with my family over the long weekend.  Here is a little treat holder you could use as a favor for your Thanksgiving table.  I made them as favor for my November All Dy Crop.
They were made using both the Art Philosophy Cartridge and the new Flower Market Cartridge.
Happy Thanksgiving to you!
