Color Dare 190 and Mojo Monday 445

I often look at the Color Dare and Mojo Monday blogs and hope to make a card to post, but it  never happens.  However, I was really inspired by the round card sketch.  The Color Dare combination seemed a bit challenging until I saw some of the beautiful completed cards so I decided to try to combine the challenges.  The colors are Ruby, Gypsy, Honey, Pear and Colonial White.

The card is made using Art Philosophy.  It is on page 41 of the booklet cut at 5" (it will fit in a 5x7 envelope).  The Gypsy flowers are on page 48 and cut at 1/2" and 1 1/4".  The Ruby flower is on page 50 and was cut at 3/4".  The leaves are on page 59 and are cut at 3/4" and 1/2" in Pear CS.    The flower centers are punched from Honey Cardstock.  The stamp is from S1603 which was the March SOM called Sunshine Birdies.  The card center is a Background and Texture paper from X7207B Penelope paper pack.  It makes the card look like a big sunflower.  I used Z3087 Green Shimmer Trim as an embellishment to add some sparkle.

 On a side note...
I was caught in a rainstorm on my way home from the polls.  As the rain began to let up, I saw this beautiful rainbow.  So of course I had to pull over to take a picture.  The photo does not do it justice - in fact it was a double rainbow!  Not sure if the second one is just a reflection of the first rainbow or not but it was very lovely.

Masculine Birthday Card

I am trying to get back to posting ideas more often.  We have been busy doing some renovations on our home and they have taken so much longer then we expected.  This weekend, I made this card for my father-in-law's birthday.   I was inspired by the sketch at Mojo Monday.  I know, I know- this is Sunday but it is finished before the 8PM deadline!
It is a 5 x 7 size card and uses the Regatta Background and Texture papers and some Pomegranate cardstock.  The stamps used are C1542-Perfect Fit Dad, C1633-For Family (both are retiring August 1, 2016) and D1527- Perfect Fit Frames.
Don't forget about my next all day crop scheduled for May 21, 2016 from 10AM to 5PM.  I will have seasonal stamps available for you to use at the crop, including Father's Day stamps. You can work on any craft.  There will be plenty of inspiration available too.
Happy Stamping!

Joyful Stars April Blog Hop

Welcome to the Joyful Stars April Blog Hop.  If you came from Krista's Blog then you are on the right track.  If you get lost along the way, then stop by Joyce's blog for a full list of the participants.
I have a cute card today, however, it is not exclusively CTMH products.  We have been quite busy doing some home remodeling and I made a card to say thank you to the contractors.  The cardstock for the card is Desert Sand and I used Saddle for the handle of the tools.
The silver is actually silver tape from the hardware store because I could not find my silver paper.

The tools were cut using the Cricut Handyman cartridge.  The card is almost standard size - it fits a gift card quite nicely.
Hope you are enjoying the hop.  Now it is off to my friend Lori's Blog to see her beautiful creation.
